Add that you can pick tiles just like with a color picker

That has already been implemented if you check the documentation:
Alt+Right Mouse Click - Copy UV coordinates of the clicked tile
Alt+Left Mouse Click - Apply UV coordinates to the clicked tile

But that copies to an existing tile, right? I meant that the tile brush uses the uv coordinates and the tile size and orientation of the clicked tile so that you can create fast new tiles

oh ok.. no, it doesn't do that.
The closest thing to being able to do that would be to copy paste the tiles, or create an object out of the tile, and then draw the object into the scene. But with that way, you'd get a bunch of objects instead of tiles, so you'd have to deconstruct the objects back into tiles.
Can you describe what you would use that kind of feature for? It'd help me have a bit of context for why it'd be useful.

Lets say you are working on a city and have a street. You want to continue the street and so it would be faster to pick from the other part of the street. So you save the time and effort to: 1. Go with the cursor to the tile window and maybe even switch to the tile tab; 2. rotate and flip the tiles so that they are orientated right;

you could implement that when maybe pressing Strg+P
and add some more tools like that like a tile fill to replace tiles faster.

Hm.. okay I think I understand. I could probably implement that, I'll put it on the list.

Would the tiles be locked in the same orientation regardless of the camera angle?

Mhh that may be not but for locking orientation i would suggest x, y and z keys so if you press x the face will be locked to move on the x coordinate.
